Buddha group of institutions have a long legacy and started from a simple beginning of a Sanskrit Sastri School in 1920. It is a rare blessing for coastal belt of Alappuzha, Muthukulam to have an oriental Sanskrit institution – K.V, Sanskrit Higher Secondary School. The founder Manager of the school was Varanapallil Ummini Kunju Panicker laid the foundation of the School in the year 1920, which has now flourished enormously and is acting as a leading institution in this coastal belt. The authority to start a Sanskrit School was allowed by the then Travancore Divan Sir C.P, Ramaswamy Iyer through the initiative undertaken by Mavelikara M.L.C. Kochikkai Balakrishnan Thampi.Shri. Divakara Panicker made up the school to the high school level. Later the school was elevated to Govt Aided Higher Secondary with 4 streams in 1999 with the great leadership and contributions of shri. T.K. Rajendra Panicker.

Under T K Divakaran memorial Charitable educational Trust, Buddha Education Centre Central School (BCS) as CBSE affiliated English Medium started in 2001. B Ed college, Buddha College of Teacher Education and Del Ed College (BCTE), Buddha School of Elementary Teachers Training Institute(BSETTI) started functioning in 2005 with the approval of NCTE and affiliation of University of Kerala. Later the college is upgraded with M Ed course. With this, educational set up is transformed to a furnished group of institutions from LKG to professional courses like M.Ed, B.Ed, TTC/D.El Ed. Buddha group of institutions are lead by eminent personalities in the field of education. All these institutions are under T.K Divakaran Memorial Charitable Educational Trust, which is a leading trust in Kerala which has the above institution and the trustees ambitious to start more Educational Institutions beneficial for the common people.
